What affects the cost of replacement windows in Prince George?

Can I replace a few windows instead of the whole house?

Rough measurements can help the conversation, but final sizing needs to be confirmed before ordering.

What should I ask about installation and warranty?

Ask what the quote includes for removal, sealing, flashing, interior and exterior finishing, and cleanup. Have the product warranty and installation coverage explained separately, including any exclusions and who to contact if a problem occurs. Confirm the expected schedule and how the work area will be protected before the project starts.

Can I discuss doors and attic insulation at the same time?

Yes. Lipstick also supplies and installs exterior and patio doors and provides blown-in cellulose attic insulation and top-ups. Mention any related upgrades when you request your free estimate so the conversation covers the work you are considering.

Replacement planning: keep the style or change it?

A replacement project starts with the openings you have and how you want each room to work. Tell us which windows are difficult to operate, where you notice drafts and whether the existing layout suits you. A fixed picture window, an opening casement and a basement hopper serve different purposes. We can discuss the styles listed above alongside your ventilation, access and appearance priorities.

For a phased project, identify the rooms you want quoted first. Ask which existing frames and finishes can be retained and which need replacement. Final measurements and the condition of the opening must be checked before ordering. Use our room-by-room planning guide to organize your list.

Double pane, triple pane and the glass specification

Our window options include dual and triple pane with Low-E coatings and argon fill. Ask for the specification of the exact unit being quoted, including the frame, glass package and whole-window performance ratings. Pane count alone does not describe the complete product, and a single specification may not address every room in the same way.

Agree the installation and finishing scope

Your written estimate should identify the selected windows and the work around each opening. Discuss removal and disposal, preparation, sealing and flashing, and the interior and exterior finishing included. If trim or paint work is your responsibility, have that stated before the installation is booked.

Ask how concealed damage would be documented and any extra work authorized. Before installation day, agree on room access, furniture and window coverings, pets and cleanup. The installation-day checklist helps you prepare without guessing what the crew will need.

Warranty, records and your estimate

Product coverage and installation coverage are separate questions. Ask what applies to your selected windows, what exclusions exist and who to contact if service is needed.
